Let the tape sit comfortably around the base of the neck. The base of the neck is where the curve starts at the bottom.

This one may be easier with the help of a friend. Measure across your upper back from the tip of one shoulder to the tip of the other. Try not to hunch over. Make sure that the tape pass over your nape which is the lowest point at the back of your neck.

Take the tape horizontally around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. You must wear the same bra you intend to wear with the dress.

Bend to one side to find the natural crease of your waist. Measure around your waist at this point, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Standing with feet together. Measure around the fullest part at your hips and rear, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Relax your arm and measure around the largest part of the upper arm.

Loop the tape from the shoulder point, over the front under the arm and back to the shoulder point. Keep your arm relaxed on its side.

Measure from the base of your neck, pass over bustpoint, to a few inches above the knee.

Measure from the base of your neck, pass over bustpoint, to a few inches above the floor.
